Want to serve up your own wedding cake with white chocolate buttercream frosting? According to celebrity writer, Love Tripper, this smooth frosting is all the rage at celebrity weddings. For instance, both Britney Spears and Jenny McCarthy had cakes iced with this sweet unctuous buttery concoction.

Here is the recipe the delicious frosting, which is so popular with celebrities and famous cake makers at the moment

White Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

1 cup butter, softened (only butter will do – don’t use oil or anything else or you will not have a butter frosting!)
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
6 ounces white chocolate or white baking bar, melted and cooled
3-5 tablespoons whipping cream or half-and-half

In a large bowl, beat the butter and confectioners sugar at low speed until fluffy.
Add in melted and cooled white chocolate and whipping cream. To do this right, start with 3 tablespoons and add in more to achieve desired consistency as you go along
Beat on high speed for 3-4 minutes, scraping the bowl with a spatula.

Keep in mind this is a very creamy and sweet frosting. It is not stiff as a conventional frosting which is why in some ways it can make a better filling than a frosting. It all depends on the design of your cake. This type of icing is good for swirling and spreading icing on a cake. It will also not get as stiff or dry as other types of icing, as the white chocolate prevents it from cementing on the cake.
